What does the Migrate to iCode button do?

Overview

The Migrate to iCode button allows certain users to optionally migrate/move/port their current iSearch or RFI tool portfolio to the new coding tool, iCode. This was implemented on September 28th, 2026 and will be available through November 18, 2026. On November 19, 2026, all portfolios that have not been optionally migrated will be automatically migrated to iCode by the OPA team. The benefit of moving portfolios during this transition period is that users can have more time to acclimate to using the new and improved coding tool, iCode.

This button exists for Managers and Super Curators only in the current iSearch 2.7 and RFI portfolio tools. 

After selecting the button, the Manager or Super Curator will see a message reflecting the action. In iCode, that user will see a notification directing them to check their email. They should receive an email with language about their port, including a hyperlink to access the project in iCode. The hyperlink will open their project in iCode. 

Note that as the original message says in iSearch 2.7 and the RFI tool, there may be some expected differences in portfolios migrated across the tools; learn more here.

Migrated portfolios

If you do not have one of these roles in the portfolio, you will not see this button, however, if the Manager or Super Curator has migrated the portfolio to iCode, the portfolio in iSearch 2.7 or the RFI tool will now be read only and you must edit the portfolio/project now in iCode. These edits will be retained throughout and after the transition period in the migrated iCode project.

After the portfolio has been migrated to iCode, it will appear with this message (for all users, regardless of role) in iSearch 2.7 or the RFI tool. Roles will be retained with nearly identical privileges in iCode.
