Manage Content: Add Content
Manage Content: Add Content is used to add new records to your project or update source data for existing records. Use Add Content when creating a project or when adding new records to an existing project, such as when coding RFI responses.
- When adding multiple spreadsheets using Add Content, what you include in each subsequent spreadsheet depends on the records and data being added. You can upload a cumulative spreadsheet containing previously added records or a spreadsheet containing only new records. For example:
- Adding new records with different fields: If you upload a spreadsheet from a different data source, such as clinical trials after grants, the new fields will be added to the project for those records.
- Adding new records with the same fields: If you upload new records from the same data source, such as another grants spreadsheet, include the same fields that were included in the previous upload so that those fields are available for the new records.
- Updating existing records: If you upload records with IDs that already exist in the project, the new upload will overwrite the existing field values for those records. Use this method when you intentionally want to update previously uploaded data, such as correcting a title. Make sure the new upload also includes any existing field values you want to retain for those records.

Upload Fields
Upload Fields is used to add coding or additional data fields to records that already exist in your project. Unlike Add Content, Upload Fields does not add new records to the project.
The spreadsheet you upload must contain IDs that match records already added to the project through Manage Content (Add Content). You can use Upload Fields to add information such as coder assignments, topics, or other tags to existing records.
