iSearch 2.7 Portfolios vs iCode projects (ported)

To assist users in the transition, we have ported (copied) portfolios from iSearch 2.7 to iCode. Below are a list of notes and differences in the portfolios/projects to keep in mind when reviewing the projects in iCode:

• Viewable fields
  • For iSearch portfolios, as a general note, only major table fields will be viewable by default in the new projects. If you wish to see additional data in the iCode project, you can go to Manage Content to make sure these are included in the project and change this. Additionally, you can look up that system ID in iSearch 3.0 to see more information. Viewable fields can later be edited using Modify view.
• Record differences
  • Number of records may vary because stale (previously deleted) records in iSearch/QVR will not be in the new iCode project
  • Masked (hidden) records will not be retained in iCode projects
  • iSearch 3.0 does not contain the global grants database, so these will not be recorded in ported projects
  • iSearch 3.0 does not contain L (loan repayment) grants, so records with these mechanisms will not be retained in the iCode project
• Portfolio creation and automatic updates
  • Static portfolios will be ported/copied based on the portfolio contents, not the search query used to make the portfolio
    • IDs will be copied to the ported portfolio, and corresponding fields/metrics will have the ported date's updated values, i.e. for RCR, that PMID will have the ported date's RCR, which will stay the same from that day on in the project. If you wish for the metrics to update in the project, you can check the dynamic feature in the ported project. (The same goes for newly created projects - you can make a project in iCode based on IDs, and check the dynamic feature to allow the other fields corresponding to these records to update like in iSearch 2.7.)
  • Dynamic portfolios will be ported/copied based on the search query used to make the portfolio, thereby possibly capturing more records than when the portfolio was last reviewed in iSearch 
    • The search or query used to make the portfolio is still planned to be available in some form; this is a planned future feature. If you have issues or questions, please contact us and we can assist. See expected differences in redirected searches in the FAQ.
• Field settings
  • We have attempted to make the field settings optimal, however, you may need to go to Manage Content and make adjustments. For example, Appl ID will be set as a number, which is accurate and beneficial to exports in Excel, however, if you intend to use Search Assist in iCode, this will show as a range. To best use Search Assist, you will likely want to change this field format to short text to select different Appl IDs in this feature.
• Vocabularies have been retained, however, the flow to use a previously created vocabulary is different than previous portfolios. Learn more here.
• Highlighting will been retained, however, we have a limited number of colors that we allow now, whereas before, unlimited choices were available using the wheel. Highlighted colors have been matched to the best of our ability; sometimes a duplicate color is selected. If the closest match could not be found, the default is yellow.
